Adults Classes Student Update on the Coronavirus
The coronavirus is a worldwide concern at present and doctors and scientists have been emphasising the seriousness of its existence. What makes the coronavirus so dangerous is that there is no cure for it and its symptoms can remain undetected for several days, meaning it can spread easily and unknowingly to many people without us knowing.
Based on what we know at present, we feel it is important and essential that we take the following steps:
- Washing hands after entering the room and before eating:
All students should aim to wash their hands after entering their class and before eating anything. A practical example of how to do this correctly can be found in the following links:
See also the poster below:
- No handshake or bodily contact policy:
As a temporary measure teachers and students should avoid shaking hands.
In addition to washing hands correctly, we should:
Not joke about the virus;
Understand that it is acceptable to stay home and away from the mosque or indeed other congregational prayer if a person displays the symptoms of the virus as a precaution;
Use the correct technique when coughing and sneezing to prevent the spread of germs;
Avoid spreading unverified information about the virus. There is a great deal of misinformation about the virus and both students and staff members/volunteers should be extremely careful about sharing information about the virus which is not known to be factually correct.
- Hand sanitiser:
Because the Madrasah is unable to provide hand sanitiser at present due to the difficulties in obtaining any, students are welcome to bring their own in with them.

We are doing our best to remain up to date about the coronavirus and will close if this becomes necessary. The schools where we are operating continue to remain open as usual and we shall, of course, keep you updated on any new and significant developments. Do let us know in the meantime if you feel unwell and think you are displaying symptoms of the virus.
In the meantime, please feel free to get in touch with the Management Team should you have any questions. May Allah, our Protector and Saviour, grant us patience and protection at this testing time.
